Further research into the relation between the audience and the artist

This piece heavily relies on the audience's participation to make it into a piece of art. There is always that fine line between what the artist has created and what the audience make it into. Who then becomes the artist in that situation? For me, the audience's participation is greatly dependant on the artist's idea; so it is then the idea that should be identified as the piece of art. It is merely an approach for the artist to encourage audience participation, just like a decision to use a particular colour of paint or a material to sculpt with.

I think it might be interesting to encourage audience participation within our exhibition. To what extent we can discuss on Thursday.

What a lovely idea this Artist communicates. The audiences participation would highlight and question the idea of control, something that urgently needs discussing. After enabling our own play with Dales' work, I am sure it will be evident if the Audiences interaction is relevant. As we, as an audience, will be in charge of Dales work, this creates endless opportunities such as re-definition and making the familiar unfamiliar.
It would be great if we could all go down to London to see this as part of our Research. - Becky
