-
Viewing how people create with the same
materials
-Creates barrier between artists work, allows audience to
make decisions
-Loose interaction, the audience decision plays the role in
how the piece is read.
-Interest behind large scale? Questions art and the possibilities
of art
-Work with red string.
Having previously understood dales work from a cold perspective, after todays interview I understand the art as play and the spontaneity of possibilities. Dale explores the dialogue between substance and interaction. The interaction creates the project as the journey is manipulated by our actions.
Due to the purity and our own
understanding of dales work this will challenge any audience’s interaction. Our
current thoughts include a floor-filled material focused installation. The
excessive amount of an everyday object, questions the papers purpose. What is the papers duty? The possible
scale of the piece will be dependent the quantity of paper. Constructing with an
excessive amount of material enables play and questions what art can
be.
Dale spoke about the relationship between the artist and audience, what makes an audience the audience and the artist an artist? To seek an understanding of this is important for Dale. If the audience are more involved than the artist is it then they become dominant?
Current ideas
Today's interview allowed new ways of thinking as previously stated, a changeable, adaptable floor installation. The photograph taken from dales previous exhibition allows us to visualise our understanding of this underdeveloped, raw idea. The discussion from today addressed where the dominance would lie. Dale was more interested in us, as the audience to take charge, re-creating what once was.
