- Becky and Alice
Having understood Beths work from an audiences perspective, it was insightful to extend our knowledge on the decisions behind her chosen pathway.
Subjective towards Mental Health, Beth explores the extent in which a concern can be pushed into a pledge to seek emotion. This is achieved successfully as the displaying of the work thrives from an audiences response. It is conspicuous that the narrative of the work evokes feelings of Mental Health. Again, a clear connection with Kerryanne, however, this approach is articulated in a literal format.
How should the work be presented?
Personally, the hand-sewn drawing confirmed that the questioning of displaying is vital for an accurate response from the audience. Beth highlighted the exposure of chaos was more important than the precision that was deliberate.
As the opposing side was only established through completion, it questions the level of control which possessed at the time. This focus initiates the idea of dominance concerning Mental illness; 'Does the mind control the body? Or the body control the mind?' Beth confidently spoke about her interest of a reversed effect.

How should we present the work?
In this interview we discussed the importance of displaying a piece successfully. Unfortunately the photographs don't do justice towards the beauty, fragility and honesty of the work. Introducing a spotlight could potentially alter how we understand the narrative. Beth suggested a blank wall would be a compulsory necessity. Myself and Alice agreed that this advice indicates the Artists requirements.
Additional notes:
-Sense of narrative
-Clarity
-Memory written in retrospective
-Play on personality
-Questions who we are and why
