Take a look at Christo and
Jeanne-Claude's work. The idea of taking a well-known trademark and defacing it
with excessive material could be interesting to explore with Dale's and
Hannah's work. Christo
and Jeanne-Claude play around with making the familiar, unfamiliar in an
attempt to disguise the everyday. Ambiguous for a tourist as the audience, it
destroys pre-conceptions of a monumental, must see attraction in exchange for
deflated disappointment. From an alternative perspective the work is seen as a
challenge, a risk- hard to understand, however, immaculately achieved.
What does everyone else think about using Dale's work in conversation with Hannah's?
If this is successful Monday, we should seek both Artists views and ask for permission.
