Jennifer Collier/Wensu Lin

As we now have confirmation of use for Wensu Lin's, 'tea' piece, I have contacted her to arrange an interview for this upcoming week, I will inform everyone of dates and times.

Wensu Lin explores the notion of movement, similar to that of a fountain. I am reminded of a catalyst, a trigger. The juxtaposition between movement and stillness explore the simple qualities of a teabag. They appear quiet with anticipation, "who will fall next?"

The relationship between material and process is evident between Collier's and Lin's work. Both artists take the substance of the everyday, however, Collier uses this opportunity to create alternative, familiarised objects.

"I tend to find items then investigate a way in which they can be reused and transformed; giving new life to things that would otherwise go unloved or be thrown away." - Jennifer Collier.

Similar to Dale, the relationship between paper and the artist is vital. Although, visually there are no similarities between the two. The use of material is evident that the emphasis is focused within the process.

  1. I was thinking that there was such a link between the 'tea piece' and Collier. There is something eerie about both Collier and Lin's works that I like a lot. It seems very approriate to compare them.
