Hi everyone, just a brief outline of today's progress. We spent the day testing out possible locations for our logo that would best advertise our show. What does everyone think about the scale? The scale was discussed and we agreed it suited it's surrounding signs as it adapted well, informing a set of instructions.
As these act as "Subliminal" messages the current scale is subtle and doesn't require dominance. We struggled to find appropriate ways of attaching, does anyone have any ideas? Rachael mentioned using masking tape as it appears carelessly placed and temporary. - I think this would be effective with more experimentation.
Thanks everyone

The acetate works really well amongst all of the surfaces that you've placed it on. Using a combination of a red and black version is also very interesting - I don't think we need to be too specific with the colour, as it is still clear that they are advertising the same subject.

The scale of the logo is perfect. If it were any smaller/bigger, it would appear unrealistic and would perhaps evoke something more than just a generic instruction (which is what we have intended to suggest).
ReplyDeleteIn response to attaching the logo, I really like the idea of masking tape but I fear it may detract the importance of subtlety and simplicity of our advertising. What does everyone think about using sellotape? This way, it isn't too distracting yet it still holds the same notions that masking tape holds as it too is temporary and can be carelessly placed.

I also think that the acetate works well, I particularly like the way it has a subtle connection with Kerry-Anne's work. I feel the scale will work well in assisting the larger posters to promote the show effectively.

Zan suggested we use Sellotape earlier, we will test that out Wednesday. He also mentioned using circular double-sided pads, he said he would get us some to test out!

I think sellotape will work well, it's a little bit more discreet than the masking tape. We could also try using the small pins to attach them to the notice board, however, that may take away the concept of them being temporary.
