Floor plans taken from Artist/Art show
Last week we discussed the beneficial qualities of a Floor plan, having researched into existing structures it is clear that there is no such thing as a 'wrong' plan. The three floor plans demonstrate contrasting qualities to communicate to their audience. Perks and Mini promote their work by the use of photographs which indicate a sense of direction/location. Would this design be suited for our exhibition? Or do we opt for a tranquil design?
Referring back to Rachael's suggestion of a hand drawn plan, if we draw out ideas for our floor plan, this will give us an insight to each others understanding of placement.
Which Floor plan does everyone prefer?
Do we want our Floor plan and press release to be combined?
(See ART-icle press release as an example)

I'm really drawn to the simplicity of the third floor plan! Although I love the personalisation of the first I feel it is somewhat childish and reminds me of a 'doodle'. I worry that the viewer might not take our exhibition as seriously as we'd like. Maybe if it was hand drawn but using a ruler because we would be combining the personal quality with an accurate approach that resembled what you'd expect from using a digital programme?
ReplyDeleteThe third floor plan is well structured and clear, I agree Alice. My understanding is that the floor plan will be on the back of the press release. Having a design such as the first plan would distract any reader from the content of the text. The press release should be dominant in relationship to the floor plan.
