Materialistic

  1. I feel enticed by that phrase 'Fragile; This Way Up'. On a day to day basis the phrase is familiar to everyone as an instruction but in the context of our exhibition I feel it could hold metaphorical notions for example Dale's performance requires the action of looking up and watching the helicopters fall.

    1. In reply to your post Alice, I agree that it explores the tedium of the everyday. It could also be a suggestion of hope, desperation. A method of seeking help from a higher position. The manipulation of dales perfomance forces us to look up. However, in context with Kerryanne and Bethan we can establish a connection with the afterlife and the unknown.

  2. I have to agree, and when selecting a title, this seems appropriate, it's almost perfect. I also think that it is darkly lighthearted, this phrase evokes a thought in everyone, it is a common sight, even everyday. It highlights the link to material things- we need to notify others to the fragility of our possessions, but I also like how this can signify others to the fragility of our emotions. I think this should be our title. Most definitly.
